Meet Jo

I am a 20 something lover of food, health, animals and photography.
I also have a great appreciation for beer and wine.
And I enjoy a good cupcake now and again.

I am currently a senior at Park University in Kansas City.  I am one of the editors of the school newspaper; my major is photojournalism but I have recently discovered I hate my major.  Okay so I haven't recently discovered this.  I may have known for awhile.  I received a full ride so instead of going to a school which offers a major I had a passion for I decided to take the free education.

Who could blame me?

So now I live in a shoe-box apartment apartment with my boyfriend of three years and our pup Sophie.

Just waiting to see where life takes me.

  • I was born August 6th, 1990
  • My mom Says I was a relatively good child.

  • I went to a small school in the middle of nowhere.  My graduating class was something around 150. You know your from a small town when they put the graduating class on the wall.

  • I was in color guard for all four years.  I hated and loved it all at the same time and still miss it to this day.  I have dreams I am still out there marching on the field.

  • I have been to France twice and Italy Once.   The tour group I went with was through my high school French class.

  • When it was time for college I was accepted into an equally small school.  I received a full ride. This is also the time I LOST the freshman 15.  I never realized how heavy I was until I got to college.   I started working out by running the track at night then I did taebo religiously.  I finally worked my way to the gym.  I ran 4 miles almost daily.

  • I also met a pretty cute boy.  I had told a friend I thought he was cute and so what did this friend do?  He told him.  Three years later I am living with him in our shoe-box apartment.

Around this time my miles increased from four miles to six miles.  My boyfriend urged me to sign up for a marathon with him.  Half way through training he dropped out but I continued to pound out the steps day by day.  I thought I better run one race before the marathon since I had never raced before.  This was my first 5k.

10/10/10 Chicago Marathon!
I had never been to Chicago so running the city was exciting.  The spectators gave you so much courage and dedication.

Now it is my senior year.  I am still running a few races here and there but I am mainly focused on what is my next big step after college.
