What's Jo Eating Wednesday

Welcome to November: Thanksgiving, Christmas music and crazy shoppers.
Take me back to Halloween any day.
We decided to stay in on Halloween but first we headed to the dog park where Sophie rocked her Skeleton sweater.

We picked up some Noddles and Company and watched Last House on the Left with some Pumpkin Beer.  It always tastes better on Halloween.

Life is back to being hectic.  It is production week for the school paper and assignments are late.  Tonight Richard and I are going to the Skrillex concert for about an hour.  We thought about selling our tickets but  we are regrettable people.

Yesterday during one of my classes a bunch of girls was asking me what I eat and how I eat.  Honestly it is all over the place.  I do eat certain foods everyday but I am no rockstar.

But this leads me all to what I am eating today.  Every Wednesday I will post what I have been eating and what foods I recommend.  Also I will tell you how I eat and how many calories for each meal I eat as well as my workout plans and strategies.

This is a typical breakfast.

Chobani yogurt
banana
blueberries
a slice of pineapple with leftover juice
a few slices of peaches
Almond Milk
1 T Almond butter
Cascadian Farms granola

Calories: 511

I try to make sure breakfast is 500 calories.  During the day I usually don't have time for lunch so I snack 500 calories worth.  This could be pretzels and fruit throughout the day.
Dinner is another 500 calories.  This makes my consumption level at about 1,500 calories.  Some days this could be more or less depending on how busy I am or how hard I push myself working out.

A few products I do stock up on our pictured above.  These are staples in my kitchen.
Justin's Nut Butter is heaven in a jar.  My favorite is the chocolate hazelnut.  It is what you dreamed grown up Nutella would always taste like.  Nuts have to be in my diet because I don't eat meat so every morning I have some form of nut butter preferably Almond over peanut butter because peanut butter is usually loaded in sugar.
Any type of yogurt without gelatin is game in my book but I love Chobani and Stonyfield.  One day my mom picked up this cute little Champion Chonbani not realizing it was packaged for kids but it has an amazing nutritional punch and mouth watering flavor plus it is only 100 calories.  I always try to get a yogurt into my day for the protein.
I also stock up on Cascadian Granola.  It is my favorite granola by far.  It is one of the best ways to get your grain and protein in together.

A great tip I have for you that will set your day straight is starting out with a good healthy breakfast packed with fruit and protein from other sources besides meat.
